Lea's pain....

Every night, for almost ten years now, Lea has relived the horrible night of her family's death....She was only six years old when they attacked...Slash was ten....

The Echidna's came from across the river, the only thing seperating them from one another... They came in quietly, waiting until the dead of night to make their terrible journey across the river, only destruction and death on their minds. Even after all the centuries...the bitter rage of war and hatred still lingered in their hearts..... They had destroyed eachother through the quest of power...and now that one had finally given up the struggle....the other decided it was time to strike.

It happened so fast..... The sound of crashing pottry, women screaming for the mercy of their children....The cries of men as they were taken out one by one... The Echidna's had a brutality that couldn't be matched by the wovles...they had given fighting long ago.
With triple their number against them...the wolves didn't stand a chance......none of them did...Only by God's grace had her brother dragged her out of her bed that night, by God's grace that the cellar door had been unopened, by His grace....that no one saw them run towards the forest.....

Once they reached the top of the hills....where they thought they were safe.....they couldn't help but look back.....look back at their home.... They could see the glow of the flames....they couldn't hear the screaming voices......they couldn't hear the roars of bloodlust....those of power and rage.... But they knew......it was gone.... For a moment...time seemed to stand still....as if time had just been broken....and it was never going to be right again....Suddenly, a great cry rang out, followed by hundreds of other voices. They had been spotted.

Everything seemed to swirl past them. Color, shape.....even the world itself didn't seem to exist. Everyting became a shadowy swirl of panic and despair, all of it flew by her....that is...until she felt herself and the world collide. She shook her head wildley, drawing herself slowly up as she held onto her sholders... She slowly drew her eyes open, and with a gasp, she found herself lost. Lost in a world of darkness and shadow....a world alien to the forest she had known and loved so much.... But not only that....the hand that had guided her was now gone....Slash....he was gone..... Panic set in.... the weight of the world seemed to pound down on her...it was crushing her..... But she couldn't die.....she couldn't...

Suddenly, a roar was heard behind her. She jumped up in terror, fleeing franticly, not knowing where she was going.... Blindly racing along the pather, she found what little hope she had begin to grow, a small light seeming to grow inside of her. But in a horrible moment, her hopes faded away... A wall of petrified trees loomed over her, blocking every escape that she had.... As she clawed at the stoney structures, she heard the footsteps of the monster coming toward her. She cried for help, begging for her mother, her father, brother, anybody....to save her....but it was too late..... The shadowy figure loomed over the child....smiling....grinning with bloody rage.... All was lost......that was all she could think of as she cowwared in fear.... Finally, with a great shout, the shot his fist towards her and then- ............dark............. After that....she couldn't remember any more.....
