Poisoned sketch

This is a slight revamp of one of my old, OLD characters, Poisoned the Cobra. His original design consisted of alot of plated armor covering his body, and a cloak on top of that. Mainly because he didn't wish to "frighten" anyone, and because of the horrible poisoned barbs he adorns on his arms, and on his tail when he retracts them out.
(I know retractible tail is a weird concept, but he's a snake with legs, how much weirder can he be?)



[WARNING: STORYLINE LONGWINDEDNESS]

He was in fact Lea's first love interest, let alone her first serious relationship. Back when she was working for GUN, she was assigned to bring in a "dangerous criminal" from the Robotopolis underground. Agreeing to bring the creature in, she decided to move temporarily to the city. (She and Slash had actually been living in the GUN facilities, so a normal apatment was a good idea to her.) On one of her first nights roaming the streets she managed to get herself lost, and cornered by a gang of muggers. In desperation she cried out for help, and suddenly a dark figure swooped in and faught all of them away. Natrually it was Poisoned. Lea tried to thank him for saving her, but he ran off before she could see his face. After a bit of searching, she managed to find him. Or rather, he grabbed her before another thug could try and get her again. Angered by her intrusion, he asked her why on earth she was following him. It was then she was able to see that he was the one she was looking for. Without thinking, she told him, "Because you didn't let me thank you for saving my life..... Thank you." Turning red slightly, Poisoned gave her a nod and was about to bound of again. She managed to ask him his name, and he replied, "Poisoned."


Lea was definatly not convinced that he was the "hardened and dangerous criminal" that she was supposed to apprehend. So she decided to find him again, and get to the bottom of this. Little did she know that in the shadows, he was watching her too. For weeks she looked for him, but couldn't find him. He had been evading her, but now even he wondered why he didn't show himself to her.... Finally, they met. So began a steady ritual of meeting on the rooftop of an old apartment building...talking, listening, getting to know eachother... Lea eventually found out that Poisoned was wanted merley because he was reptilian. Hundreds of years ago, reptiles and mamals waged war on the very land that was robotopolis. The mamals won, and banished all reptiles to the other side of the world... That was why whenever a reptile would be found, it would be killed or sent to the backlands.... Poisoned and his mother had been the only ones that had hidden in the city....but his mother had been caught. He was the only one left.... An orphan....just like her...

Lea's heart went out to Poisoned...and soon, his did to her. But she was still supposed to capture him.... So, she made a plan. Poisoned would often be confronted by the police whenever he made an apperence to save or rescue someone, and Lea was also in contact with police officials. So her plan was to go with Poisoned on his nightly runs and help him in whatever way possible, and once the police radio'd one another to capture him, she would warn him they were coming. (Mainly with a whistle call) This worked out for a relitivly long time.... That is until GUN got tired of waiting....

One night when Lea and Poisoned were about to go their rounds, she was confronted by her brother. Panic striken, Lea tried to make believe that Slash had come from some far away city to see her, but when a GUN milita came along....it was too late. Angry and heartbroken, Poisoned lashed out against the soldiers, while Lea cried out that she loved him. Unfazed, Poisoned continued his onslaught against his attackers. Til then they had been only defensive, but now...they were aiming to kill. In panic, Lea ran towards Poisoned and grabbed him, knocking both of them on the ground and avading fire.

Upon lifting himself up, Poisoned looked in horror at his hand protruding from Lea's stomach, his poison barbs cutting into her stomache. He flicked his hand back, releasing her flesh from his grasp, and wrapped his arms around her. Weeping sorrowfully, realizing that she would rather die than see him injured.....he whispered softly, "I'm sorry......I'm so sorry....." Lea smiled softly, looking in his eyes without a drop of resentment... Whilst this was happening, soldier among soldier was crowding around the two, all aiming straight for his head. Poisoned looked around angrily, shouting for them to help her, that she needed a hospital. Slash agreed anxiously, but as he tried to help her, a wall of soldiers blocked his path. He grunted and swore for them to move, but they said "the objective" was more important than her. Enraged, Slash tried to fight through them, but it was no use.

Looking around anxiously for some kind of help, for something, Poisoned agreed to give up if they just put Lea in a hospital. With a few moments of thought, the authorities agreed.

"You'll wait for me....won't you...?" Poisoned asked.
"Always...." Lea replied.

Years later Lea boards a plane to Brazil, jumping in anticipation to see him....to see her Poisoned. It seemed like years now....centuries.... Yet at the same time it was only a moment...

Finally Lea got off into the forests of Brazil, tribe upon tribe of reptile infesting the entire part of the island. Rushing through grasslands and desert, it seemed like forever until she finally reached her destination.... At first she didn't know what to do, what to say..... It was almost as if time stood still as she saw Poisoned emerge from a clothy hut in the middle of the village. Their eyes locked...both in shock and amazment....but Poisoned seemed more....like fear.

Suddenly another form came out of the hut, only this was slender, female. She looked to Poisoned and hugged him across the neck, gently kissing his cheek. She wore a golden band around her wrist...and Poisoned wore an identical one on his.... They were married!!

Lea ran as far as she could, almost anable to cry for her unbearible despair. Poisoned called after her, chasing her as she ran away. She sped up, but it only made it easier to catch her one she stopped to sob...

"Lea...I.....I'm sorry......" He said, agonizing. "It's better this way..... I'm with my own kind now...... You'd only get hurt if you were around me.... Just.....I.....I'm sorry!" Poisoned whirrled around, and ran back to his wife....back to his life...... Once again....Lea....had none....
